Research and Outreach
Humanities, Arts, and Cultural Studies offers tremendous opportunity for exciting research and outreach, from designing new lighting and energy efficiency to discovering and maintaining new languages.
CLTC's mission is to stimulate the application of energy-efficient lighting by facilitating
technology development and demonstrations, and offering outreach and education activities in
partnership with electric utilities, lighting manufacturers, lighting professionals, and
governmental agencies.

The Davis Humanities Institute is an interdisciplinary research center designed to foster the
further development of the humanities at UC Davis. Its programs are organized on behalf of scholars
who are actively engaged in research and teaching in the fields of the humanities, the arts, cultural
studies, and the humanistically-oriented social sciences.

The Second Language Acquisition Institute is dedicated to furthering our understanding of all
facets of non-primary language acquisition, from theoretical and applied linguistics to foreign
