Academic Progress/Standing (expand category)

Students who are not meeting minimum progress should complete units during the summer to make up the deficit.
An undergraduate is on subject to disqualification when their overall or quarterly grade point average drops below 1.5, or when they have been on probation for 2 consecutive quarters. You must make an appointment with an academic counselor immediately.
Make an appointment to discuss your progress on your readmission or reinstatement contract.
An undergraduate is on subject to disqualification when their overall or quarterly grade point average drops below 1.5, or when they have been on probation for 2 consecutive quarters.
An undergraduate is on academic probation when their grade point average overall or quarterly grade drops below 2.0, but is higher than 1.5.
Readmission is used for any student who has been out of UC Davis for one or more regular quarters. The student must apply through the Office of the Registrar at least 8 weeks before the beginning of the quarter s/he plans to return. Readmission application is available through the Registrar's Office website (http://registrar.ucdavis.edu/html/office_of_the_registrar_forms.html).
Reinstatement is used for a dismissed student who is being allowed to continue on a probation contract.
Withdrawal is an immediate break in registration. Returning to Davis requires an application for readmission. Check the Office of the Registrar or their website for deadlines. If you are on probation when you withdraw, you will remain in academic probation upon return. Dismissal will override withdrawal. You must meet with an L&S adviser if you are on academic probation and considering withdrawal.
The first and most important step following dismissal will be to arrange to see a counselor in the college in which a student is enrolled. The counselor will assist in providing options for becoming eligible to continue at UC Davis or completion of the undergraduate degree at another university. Students in L&S may arrange for a counselor appointment at: (http://appointments.ucdavis.edu)
If at the end of an academic year a student has passed an average of less than 13 units per quarter but has an average of between 12 and 12.9 units per quarter, the student will be placed on probation and will have two additional quarters to meet minimum progress. If a student has passed an average of less than 12 units per quarter, the student will be subject to disqualification and will have one additional quarter to meet minimum progress. In either case, if a student has not met minimum progress at the end of Spring Quarter a "degree progress average" will be calculated at the end of the next full-time quarter of enrollment at UCD, which will reflect the average pregress per quarter for a student's entire UCD record. If the degree progress average is less than 13 units per quarter, the student will be subject to disqualification.
