October 3, 2017 — The Ann E. Pitzer Center has been recognized as one of the Best Real Estate Projects of 2017 by Sacramento Business Journal.

The state-of-the-art building — named in honor of the late Ann E. Pitzer, a UC Davis graduate who bequeathed $5 million toward the facility’s construction — houses classrooms, practice rooms and an acoustically pristine, 399-seat recital hall.

Jessie Ann Owens, a music professor and dean of the Division of Humanities Arts and Cultural Studies at the time of construction, accepted the award alongside the architects, engineers and contractor.
