Professor Annabeth Rosen Wins Major Art Award

Art professor Annabeth Rosen has received a USA Fellowship Award from United States Artists. The award carries an unrestricted $50,000 cash prize. A sculptor who works in ceramics, Rosen has held the Robert Arneson Endowed Chair in the Department of Art and Art History since 1997.

She was one of 47 winners selected from 500 nominees in categories including visual art, craft, design, architecture, theatre, media, literature and dance. Composer David Lang, novelist Annie Proulx, playwright David Henry Hwang, choreographer Bill T. Jones and artist Kara Walker are past winners of the award.

Annabeth Rosen studioRosen’s art is in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Oakland Museum, the Denver Art Museum, the Philadelphia Museum of Art and many public and private collections. She has received multiple grants and awards, including a Pew Fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, a UC Davis Chancellor’s Fellowship and a Joan Mitchell Painters and Sculptors Award.

Her work is being shown at Art Basel Miami Beach Dec. 1–4 and she will have her first solo exhibition with the P.P.O.W. gallery in New York Feb. 16 – March 25.
